Lake Murray Yacht Racing Association Series (LMYRA)
Performance Handicap Racing Fleet (PHRF) is a handicapping system used for yacht racing that allows different classes of sailboats to be raced against each other. The system rates yachts by using various measurements that account for the expected speed potential of the yachts competing.
LMYRA sponsored PHRF sailing events are open to any mono-hull, ballasted, self- righting sailboat of at least 20 feet having a cabin, operable engine and fuel. Racing series are offered in the spring and fall, with evening races offered in the summer. Most race courses take advantage of the lake’s islands as marks of the course with a few buoy races thrown in the mix.
It is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday or a summer evening!
