53rd Annual Midlands Regatta
and Oyster Roast since 1958

November 2 - 4 2012

"The picture above was shot at the FIRST Midlands Regatta in 1958. The first two Midlands Regattas were sailed from the borrowed property of Mr. Alex Crosswell, who had one small but serviceable ramp and no dock. A borrowed pontoon boat worked great for the race committee, which is the reason we later blew $400.00 on a used pontoon boat for the RC in 1960. We flag officers got into hot water for spending so much money without a full board discussion about it, but the opportunity presented itself and we grabbed it." ~ John Wrisley
